Play time

Medyo matagal-tagal din akong hindi nakapag-update ng akign GLOG (gagong blog). I started working full time and the week had been really toxic. We are in the process of merging two branches, and sandamukal na paperwork ang kailangang kaharapin. The other branch averages more than 10,000 transactions a month at madadagdag ito sa amin. Syempre sali pa diyan ang regular naming trabaho, kaya pag-uwi ko ay talagang lupaypay ang byuti ng rhaditay.

Well, sa umpisa lang naman ito. We are gaining two more employees na makakatulong din sa amin. Also, we are building a bigger office (construction will be finished in October) to better accomodate our clients. Pero kung inaakala ninyong ALL WORK and NO PLAY ang aming opis, nagkakamali kayo. We still find time to relax and have fun....heto ang patunay....

Happy Weekend Ya'll

Small business

Who wouldn't want to be their own boss? I guess none of us really wants to remain an employee our entire lives. Problem is, putting up a business is not that easy either. According to the US SBA (small business administration), over 50% of small businesses fail within five years. That is awful. That is why it's not uncommon to see small business for sale signs plastered everywhere.

I do dream of having my own business someday. I've looked up franchise opportunities but to get into an already established franchise is a bit out of my league (financially). I need something that doesn't require a lot of overhead. Any suggestions?

Oath Taking

Received my appointment for the oath taking ceremony that will seal my US citezenship. It'll be on June 20th, at 9am. The Consul originally offered me the July 9th oath taking ceremony at Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers baseball team. I (plus two guests) will then have the opportunity to watch a free baseball game after the ceremony (maybe hobnob with the players too). Much as I wanted to take him up on that offer, I was just to eager to get this whole citizenship saga done and over with so I asked if I can do it sooner. So June 20 it is! You can just imagine hubby's disappointed look on his face when he found out what I did. tee hee. Take that, sports freak!

Maybe I should just take him SPA shopping. He's been hinting for a hot tub. His birthday is coming up and I'm still looking for the best buy. Gosh, he's spoiled.

Vegas

If ever we went to Vegas for a vacation, we wouldn't have to look for las vegas hotels at all. I just found out that I have a cousin that is currently based in Vegas and he extended an invitation to us to come out and visit. He's working as a casino dealer and just bought a huge house just right outside the Vegas strip. That's really good to know. I've been wanting to taste the Vegas experience as long as I can remember. Just never really had the chance to. Maybe after Bahamas. Not a bad idea at all.

Boo Back At Yah 2

When I say NEVER again, I mean NEVER again. That's why when this little ingrate requested to be my "Friendster Friend" again, I just ignored it (the request). I can forgive, but I certainly can't forget. I wonder how it feels to be ignored??? *evil grin* I don't get mad, I get even.

Anyway, the weather here is beautiful. I'm OFF from work and I plan on spending it outdoors (in our backyard). It's nice and warm, calming and peaceful as the gentle breezes bring forth soothing sounds from our wind chimes. It is indeed a good day to relax!

Property

We got a phone call yesterday from our realtor in Georgia. An investor wants to buy our house, at $10K below our asking price. Our realtor had mentioned that he could have sold the house more than ten times if there weren't any tenants in it. Prospective buyers wanted to move-in right after closing but we can't just kick the tenants out. This investor is willing to honor the lease with the current tenants. We are seriously thinking about biting the bait. $10K is a lot of money but we sure aren't trying to get rich off this property. We'll still end up with a nice chunk of profit after all is said and done.

Anyway, for those of you living in California, be sure to check out California auto insurance for your auto insurance needs.

Garage sale

Compared to last weekend, this weekend was pretty much laid-back. We drove through town a lot, stopping occasionally at some yard/garage sales. There was a huge subdivision sale Sunday in of the newer built subdivisions but we didn't find anything we liked. I was too lazy to cook so we went to a restaurant to feast on an all-you-can-eat buffet. Food was just so-so. I was disappointed. In a way it's a good thing because I didn't eat a lot. I wouldn't be needing Anoretix after all.
