Black Friday

The day after Thanksgiving aka Black Friday is perhaps the biggest one day sale here in the United States. For most people, this is the opportunity to buy high ticket items for just a fraction of the price. In the bank where I work, 0 apr credit cards application have increased dramatically in preparation for the holiday shopping spree. Unfortunately......

News about the Walmart employee getting trampled to death by a mad crowd of shoppers is disheartening. Black Friday has turned these people into beasts. Instead of feeling guilt and sadness, they got really upset when told that the store had to be shut down due to the unfortunate incident. Where is the humanity in that?

twilight

I watched Twilight with Alexis today. She read the Twilight series of books last summer that's why she's very excited to see the first book's screen adaptation. To be honest, I think I enjoyed it more than her. I felt super *kilig* like a teenager. There are no love scenes, but you can feel the sexual tension between the two bidas.

Anyway, on our way home eh chinika ko si Lexi. I'm excited to find out how the love story progressed. I wanted to read the books, but I found out all four were borrowed by her friends. Buti pa sya, alam na ang mangyayari. She said she liked the book better than movie. I could tell it was a bit awkward for her to watch the kissing scenes. She got really excited though when she saw the preview of the next Potter movie. She made me promise to take her to the movie theater when it comes out in July. Of course I will.

P.S. The twilight franchise is getting so big, the mall close to home already has a specialty store selling mostly twilight promotional items

JACKMAN ROAD ELEMENTARY SALUTES VETERANS

( THE BLADE/HERRAL LONG )

Amid the throng of veterans and students at an assembly at Jackman Road Elementary School, there was a personal moment: sixth-grader Alexis McCarroll embraces her father, Steve, an Army veteran. The McCarrolls are from Temperance. The moment was part of a program in which the students honored local veterans by singing patriotic songs. Bedford Public Schools' Superintendent Jon White, at lectern, introduced each veteran.

****************
side note: Alexis (student council president) and 3 other student council officers were tasked to hand out tokens of appreciation to several military veterans on this special veteran's day program at her school. See original clip here

Great starter camera. Two birds in one shot ikanga.

Saturday

Had our first snowfall this morning. The snowflakes were huge and they were beautiful!! Hubby is out hunting with his dad and bro-in-law. It's the start of deer hunting season here in Michigan and he left very early this morning to man his post (deer blind) at the farm. *phone rings* brb.

It was hubby on the phone. He said he just missed a buck. He took aim at it, shot, and missed. He said his scope is a bit fogged up from the nasty weather. They saw six deer so far.

Anyway, I cooked rice and adobo for us here at home. The kids loved it! I pigged out of course. I've given up on the diet thing. And I'm too chicken to try even the top rated diet pills.

When I'm hungry, I eat. When I'm not hungry, I eat. period.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Taglagas.

Social Climbing ek ek

Ang goal ko sana eh maging uber sikat, tinitilian, at binubulag ng flash ng camera from my fans....but it backfired.
ganito ang pangyayari Kuya Eddie.......

I had to be at work by 8:30 am. I left the house at 8 am.

Oh my gulay anak ng katuray!!! Kasi kung beating the red light, I'll boink my head dahil sa sobrang careless ko that morning eh I could have caused a big accident. And I can never forgive myself for that.

And the irony of all ironies eh ito......the day before eh sinesermunan ko si fafa Steve dahil he got fined for speeding sa Sandusky, Ohio area. He was going 82 on a 65 stretch.

By the way highway, matagumpay na naidaos ang trick-or-treat dito sa amin. Here are some pics.
